Public Works announced that the chip-sealing work has in the triangle area at the Gooseberry Pt dock is complete. That means parking in that area is pretty much back to normal, with a few changes to the handicapped spaces.
When dry dock 2012 begins on September 5, 2012, no parking will be available in the triangle area due to the remaining re-queuing construction and work on the dock.
Reminder about how dry dock will start out (from Aug. 13, 2013 Public Works memo; bold & italics are mine)
“The Whatcom Chief’s last crossing for vehicles prior to dry dock will be Tuesday, September 4, 2012. The Whatcom Chief will make all of its scheduled runs on Tuesday, September 4, 2012.
On Wednesday, September 5, 2012, the Whatcom Chief will operate as a passenger-only ferry beginning with the first scheduled run of 5:40 a.m. and will continue to run as a passenger-only ferry until it makes its last run.
