The PLIC annual meeting has been postponed until January 31st. Mike McKenzie gives us the details in his email below….
Mike McKenzie 9:14pm Jan 16
From PLIC Board of Directors: Annual island-wide mtg postponed from tomorrow (Tue, 1-17) to Tue, Jan 31, 6:30p, The Grange. Impt issues; circle the date. The message: Snow and slippery slopes and the threat of deep ditches led to postponement of the PLIC Annual Meeting.
Jan. 31 will be a night for updates on Ferry Task Force recommendations that are in the works for the first quarter of 2012; status of a recommended Ferry Advisory Committee that probably will be introduced at County Council soon; to elect new board members, and to toast two stalwart officers of the last two years who have rotated off the board — outgoing president Stuart Rich and vice-president Mark Sexton.
That will call for the requisite cake and ice cream, with hot chocolate and coffee.
Be there if you can. Open to everybody; membership not required (except to vote), and everybody is encouraged to provide input toward an island consensus on many ferry issues lying directly ahead that have major impact on the community and island stakeholders (fares, schedule, parking, security at Gooseberry Point, dry dock, to name a few).
As always, if you have suggestions or questions, write info@PLICferry.org.
