Lummi Island Businessman Riley Starks on Possible Ferry Dock closure

Here’s a story from the Seattle Weekly describing how Lummi Island’s business owner Riley Starks of the Willows Inn is facing the threatened blockade of the ferry in April. Sounds like Riley is doing what any good business owner would do — hope for the best but plan for the worst.

It would be great if other Lummi Island business owners would step forward and tell your stories and plans, too. Send them to the Ferry Forum (good exposure – we are getting ~4,000 visits per week) and to Master PR Guy Mike McKenzie, and to the Bellingham Herald (Dave Gallagher is the business reporter and other local news outlets (Ferndale Record, Lynden Tribune, The Northern Light (Blaine, Birch Bay)etc).

We need to tell our fellow county citizens how small businesses will be — and have been — hurt by this on-going uncertainty that has plagued us this past 15 months or so.
