The County Council agenda for next week’s meeting indicates that Weimer and Brenner’s most recent version of the resolution establishing a new Whatcom County / Lummi Island ferry advisory committee will be introduced. It will be ‘acted upon’ (voted on) at a later date, as early as Feb. 7, 2012, after there is time for council review and public comments.
If you support or would like to see changes in the resolution, send the specifics with your reasons to the County Council. Their contact information is here. Weimer deleted several items that a group of ~12 islanders thought were important to add. Carl’s version and his reasons for removing those islander suggestions are here. It’s important, if you disagree with his version, to give compelling reasons why you think islander suggestions should be added to the proposed legislation. Sharing your thoughts on the Ferry Forum would be great, too.
